Responsible for the effective management and operational efficiency of the Street Cleansing Team. Ensuring that the service is delivered in accordance with the Council’s values, beliefs, priorities, policies, procedures and objectives. That operations are carried out in a safe manner with regard to health and safety legislation, regulatory compliance and environmental standards. To ensure Cheshire East is a clean, safe, attractive place to live with well-maintained streets and public spaces.

A vacancy has arisen within the Street Cleansing Service for the role of Team Leader
You will be a key member of staff performing day to day supervision, managing teams comprising of 49 Street Cleansing Operatives and Mechanical Sweeper Drivers.
Previous operational supervisory experience of a large team is essential along with a current full UK driving licence. Knowledge of the borough and street cleansing services carried out by Cheshire East would be an advantage but not necessarily essential.
In order to apply for the role, the ideal candidate will:
2. Be educated to a minimum of GCSE level or equivalent
3. Be capable of managing an operational team
4. Possess the ability to effectively challenge behaviour in order to drive performance
5. Be proficient in the use of IT including Microsoft office
6. Be able to work on own initiative and as an effective member of a team
7. Holding a valid current full UK driving licence is essential
The post holder must be willing to work flexibly, and it would be desirable to have the ability to complete a range of maintenance and cleansing activities including litter picking, the emptying of litter and dog bins, removal of fly tipped waste and operation of mechanical sweepers (with necessary licence).
