UK Tax Manager - Hatfield

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a UK Tax Manager to join a leading organisation based in Hatfield. This is a pivotal role for an ambitious tax professional who thrives on delivering high-quality UK tax compliance, advisory, and technology-driven services while influencing business decision-making and operational efficiency.
As the UK Tax Manager, you will be the go-to subject matter expert across a wide range of UK tax areas, working closely with internal teams and external advisors to manage risk and deliver best-in-class outcomes. You will also mentor junior colleagues and play a central role in raising the profile of the tax function across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all aspects of UK tax compliance (VAT, corporation tax, withholding tax, payroll taxes including PSA & Appendix 4, and UK tax accounting), ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
* Act as a trusted advisor, delivering clear, high-quality guidance on complex tax matters to support commercial contracts, business teams, and strategic decisions.
* Lead process improvements to enhance compliance efficiency, accuracy, and risk management.
* Maintain robust records and documentation across compliance and advisory deliverables.
* Build and manage strong relationships with external advisors, overseeing engagement letters and fee monitoring.
* Provide coaching and technical development for junior team members in the UK and internationally.
* Champion the visibility and influence of the tax team across the wider business.
What We're Looking For
* Strong, hands-on experience in UK tax compliance (VAT, corporation tax, payroll taxes, withholding taxes, UK tax accounting).
* Solid understanding of UK Transfer Pricing principles with practical application in large organisations or advisory firms.
* Experience leveraging modern tax systems.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear written and verbal advice on complex matters.
* Proven track record in project management (system upgrades, process improvements, regulatory change).
* Ability to build strong relationships with advisors and stakeholders.
* Effective people leadership skills, with experience coaching and developing junior team members.
* Proactive, analytical mindset with a commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with tax legislation.
This role is based in Hatfield and salary is up to £80,000 plus bonus, hybrid working, pension, private medical care and much more.
