The Devonport site is a strategic Defence asset serving as an Operating and Support Base for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines. Naval Base Commander Devonport
The Naval Base Commander is responsible for providing a secure, safe, and integrated operating and support base for the Royal Navy, supporting the Royal Navy worldwide from Devonport. A key part of this role involves supporting the submarine programme and managing nuclear facilities regulated by the Defence Nuclear Safety Regulator (DNSR) under DSA02-DNSR Safety Regulations to achieve Nuclear Authorisation.
Role of the Emergency Planning & Response Support Officer 2 (EPRSO2)
The purpose of this role is to support the Emergency Planning and Response Officer 5 in creating, maintaining, and testing conventional emergency response plans for the Naval Base.
Primary Responsibilities
* Support the audit and review of activities and processes carried out by Babcock Marine (BM) in accordance with the FMSP contract, supporting the site Emergency Arrangements.
* Manage equipment and facilities supporting emergency arrangements and report shortcomings.
* Develop and maintain documentation supporting emergency arrangements.
* Maintain records related to emergency arrangements.
* Assist in scrutinising Site Clearance Certificates and managing equipment maintenance related to emergency support.
* Plan and deliver training, drills, and exercises for emergencies, reviewing response plans and following exercise procedures.
* Design and develop training modules specific to emergency arrangements, using systematic training approaches.
* Implement improvements to equipment and facilities based on exercise feedback.
* Participate in emergency response duties as part of the duty roster, maintaining SQEP, and supporting drills and exercises.
* Assist in managing personnel supporting the emergency response organization.
