Are you looking for that ideal part time administrative role?
Do you have strong administrative skills and want to support our students as they undertake their examinations?
You will join us on a part time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary, pro rata of £24,791 - £25,935 per annum (i.e. £10,854.44 - £11,355.32), plus pro rata of £610.08 Crawley Weighting Allowance per annum (£267.12).
The Examinations Coordinator Role
As our Examinations Co-ordinator, you will work with a team delivering an efficient and effective service at Crawley College to all students. You will work in a team of Exam Co-ordinators, responsible for making exam entries, preparing invigilator material, communicating timetables with students and staff, recording achievement, and distributing exam results.
The tasks you undertake in this role will ensure our students have the best possible experience when undertaking their exams.
Our Examinations Co-ordinator will have administrative experience, and proven experience of working in customer service. Strong proficiency with IT is also essential.
Key Responsibilities Of OurExaminations Coordinator
* To take responsibility for delivering the examinations service to your allocated area of the college's curriculum.
* To process exam registrations and entries via the college MIS system and awarding organisation websites, meeting internal and external deadlines.
* To purchase exam bookings for on-demand tests in liaison with curriculum staff, via awarding organisation websites, and maintain the college’s exams calendar to prevent clashes.
* To plan the delivery of examinations and assessments, including timetabling, rooming and staffing, and to communicate these arrangements to staff and students.
* To arrange for students to receive the exam access arrangements they are entitled to, working closely with the Additional Support team so that reasonable adjustments are applied for, recorded and delivered.
* To administer the timely production, distribution and collection of exam packs for invigilators.
* To resolve unforeseen problems on the day of exams to support invigilators and to ensure that exams are not disrupted.
* To invigilate exams on occasions when a college invigilator is not available.
* To maintain the security of the exams process, so that all examination materials are stored in accordance with JCQ and awarding organisation regulations and that completed examination scripts are checked and dispatched.
* To submit requests for special consideration and administer post-results services such as remarks and requests for scripts.
* To verify and process claims for student achievement and certification, resolving queries and investigating gaps in order to maximise achievement rates.
* To prepare and record the dispatch of exam results and certificates.
Our ideal Lecturer in ESOL should have the following skills and experience:
* Proficient in the use of office-based IT applications; ideally Microsoft Office
* Experience dealing with confidential data
* Experience in customer service and dealing with the public
* Experience in planning the delivery of services
* Educated to Level 3 standard (2 A Levels or the equivalent) or equivalent relevant experience
* GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C
