We’re working with a number of inclusive and supportive settings in Huddersfield who are looking for Learning Support Assistants to join their teams.
About the Role:
As a PMLD LSA, you’ll play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex needs, including sensory impairments, physical disabilities, and medical needs. Working closely with teaching and healthcare staff, you’ll help create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment.
No two days are the same – from sensory play to supporting personal care and communication, this is a highly rewarding role for someone who truly wants to make a difference.
Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex needs
* Use a range of communication methods (PECS, Makaton, switches, etc.)
* Assist with physical and medical care, including moving and handling
* Help deliver sensory-based and creative learning activities
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
We’re Looking For:
* Experience working with children or young people with SEND or complex needs (in schools, care, or healthcare settings)
* A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach
* A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
* Confidence supporting communication, physical, and personal care needs
* A genuine interest in inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners
