East Riding of Yorkshire Council is recruiting a Childcare Solicitor/FILEX to join our children and community Law Team to meet the increasing demands of the service department. Reporting to the team manager the role will support the Council in respect of primarily public law childcare proceedings and SEN Tribunals.
The role will involve:
* advising Children's Social Care and SEND on legal issues
* drafting Court documentatio
* Deprivation of Liberty applications and Adoption,
* obtaining evidence,
* liaison with clients, Courts, Solicitors, Cafcass and witnesses to address threshold
* being a confident advocate before the Courts and Tribunals to undertake advocacy at all levels of proceedings where possible.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with experience in public childcare law/ SEN proceedings in either the public or private sector. This is a rewarding role, for someone who wants to make a difference in the community.
