Business Development Manager – Managed IT Services

Location: Hybrid (Kent-based HQ)
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 basic + uncapped commission (£80,000 – £100,000+ OTE)

We are working with a successful and fast-growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in Kent, who are looking to hire a Business Development Manager to focus on new client acquisition. This is a hybrid role, ideally suited to someone based in or near Kent, with regular travel to client sites, events, and the company’s head office.

This company delivers more than just IT support. Their core services include cyber security, Microsoft 365, cloud solutions, automation, and AI-powered transformation. They help SMEs streamline operations, improve security, and embrace modern workplace technologies – and they’re now looking for someone to help bring these services to new clients.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities with SME clients (typically 5–300 staff). You will be focused on solution-led selling, supported by expert pre-sales consultants, a skilled marketing team, and a strong reputation in the market.

Key responsibilities include:

* Building a pipeline of qualified prospects across Kent and surrounding areas
* Managing the full sales cycle – from discovery to proposal, negotiation, and close
* Leading client meetings, presentations, and pitches
* Working closely with technical and marketing colleagues to shape tailored solutions
* Representing the business at networking events, exhibitions, and industry meetups
* Responding to RFPs and tenders with clear, client-focused proposals

What we are looking for:

To succeed in this role, you must have previous IT sales or MSP sales experience and a proven track record of winning new business. You should be comfortable speaking with senior decision-makers, understanding their needs, and offering strategic solutions that add real value.

Essential skills and experience:

* Minimum 3 years’ B2B sales experience in Managed IT Services or technology consultancy
* Understanding of Microsoft 365, Power Platform, cloud infrastructure, or cyber security solutions
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Consultative, value-led approach to sales
* Experience managing a pipeline and working with CRM tools
* Confident presenting at events and networking with business leaders
* Naturally curious about tech and eager to learn

Salary & Benefits:

* £45,000 – £55,000 basic salary

* OTE £80,000 – £100,000+
* Hybrid working (HQ in Kent)
