Job Title: Electrical Assembler
This is a temporary position, with a possibility for a permanent contract in the future if you get on well.
Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
Hours: Monday & Tuesday 6:00am - 4:00pm; Wednesday & Thursday 6:00am - 3:45pm
About the Role
Our client is seeking a reliable and skilled Electrical Assembler to join their production team. This role involves the assembly, configuration, inspection, and testing of a range of electronic products. Working from engineering drawings, Bills of Materials, and Standard Operating Procedures, you will ensure products are built to the highest quality standards.
This is a hands-on position requiring excellent attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
Responsibilities
* Perform inspection, assembly, configuration, functional testing, and complete relevant documentation on electronic components, including actuators, 8071/2 PID Controllers, and Positioner Boards.
* Assemble and test valves, switches, alternators, and controls into complete units or subassemblies when required.
* Interpret assembly drawings and Bills of Materials to ensure accuracy and a "right first time" approach.
* Pick materials against Bills of Materials, ensuring accuracy at all times.
* Work to company Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards.
* Inspect products, identifying and escalating defects as necessary.
* Adapt positively to change and contribute to performance targets (KPIs).
Qualifications & Requirements
* Proven assembly experience.
* Confident use of hand tools.
* Physically fit with good manual dexterity.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
* Clear and confident communicator.
* Reliable and proactive approach to work.
Desirable Knowledge & Skills
* Awareness of electrical safety procedures.
* Understanding of analogue and digital circuitry.
* Ability to operate electronics-related test equipment.
* Strong computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft applications.
* Ability to interpret safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance instructions.
* Strong numeracy and problem-solving skills.
