The Head of Production (Podcasts) will lead and oversee the production management of our rapidly expanding podcast pipeline, ensuring operational efficiency and seamless execution of all production processes. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on management of scheduling, budgeting, studio coordination, post-production, delivery, and publishing. The Head of Production will guarantee that all shows are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest editorial and production standards, while fostering innovation and maintaining Bauer Media Audio’s reputation for best-in-class audio content.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all stages of production management across multiple shows, formats and networks of content.
Manage production schedules, resourcing and budget planning.
Supervise and support the quality-control of our output, including studio capture, post-production sound design and final mixes.
Foster close collaboration with creative, commercial and operational stakeholders.
Support recruitment, training and management of in-house producers, editors and freelance contributors.
Standardize and optimize production workflows, tools and documentation.
Implement and track KPIs to monitor performance, costs and efficiency.
Negotiate contracts and ensure legal/licensing compliance with partners and vendors
Identify production efficiencies, streamline workflows and challenge the status quo.
Champion innovation in storytelling formats and production techniques.
Scaling production workflows without compromising quality.
Balancing high output with fixed budgets and lean teams.
Maintaining creative alignment while delivering to deadlines.
Building a hybrid team of staff and freelance production talent.
Candidate Profile
Must-Have Skills
Strong background in production management or audio production, working across multiple projects simultaneously and in a leadership capacity.
Good understanding and/or experience with production and management tools such as Pro Tools, Audition, Descript, Riverside, and Microsoft 365.
Experience in broadcasting or digital-first production environments.
Deep knowledge of production planning, scheduling and post-production oversight.
Proven track record in managing large-scale, multi-format productions across an extensive slate of content.
Experience with budget control, contract negotiation and legal compliance.
Familiarity with project management platforms (e.g., Monday.com).
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of legal and IP aspects in content production.
