An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for two dedicated Paediatric Sensory Integration Practitioners (Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Speech and Language Therapist) to join the AHP team within the Family Care Division at Bolton Foundation NHS Trust.
We are seeking experienced, motivated therapists who work well in a team and possess excellent communication skills to undertake this highly specialist role, which involves setting up a new service within the Division.
The successful applicants will be key members of the Therapy Team, with access to the Trust's Our Leaders programme, supervision, appraisal, and peer support.
You will work in community settings within the Sensory Integration Therapy Team, providing training, advice, and assessments for children and young people with sensory processing difficulties.
We welcome applications from experienced Band 6 sensory integration practitioners aiming to progress to a Band 7 role through training, or existing Band 7s wishing to focus their clinical experience in this area and develop a new service.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Triaging paediatric sensory integration referrals to ensure clients receive appropriate and timely intervention.
2. Being professionally and legally accountable for your complex caseload, planning and evaluating interventions to meet client and service priorities.
3. Undertaking highly specialist therapy assessments using standardised and non-standardised methods with advanced clinical reasoning.
4. Assessing risks, making recommendations, and documenting to minimize risks within clients' daily activities and environments.
5. Working with clients and carers to identify goals and formulate interventions, considering complex diagnoses and prognoses.
6. Monitoring and evaluating interventions, modifying as needed, and using outcome measures where appropriate.
7. Providing highly specialist advice and training to clients and carers with complex needs to promote health and well-being across sensory, physical, psychosocial, and functional domains.
