Overview

Anexcellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and skilled IT SupportAssistant to join our team at Halton Haven Hospice.

The IT SupportAssistant will provide day-to-day technical support to staff and volunteers,helping to maintain our core systems (Microsoft 365/Teams, EMIS, XERO,Donorflex, HR, EPOS, etc.) and working closely with the Associate Director ofIT & Transformation to deliver resilient, secure and reliable IT services.This position is based at Halton Haven Hospice in Runcorn (WA7 6EP). Regularon-site attendance is a requirement of the role

The Hospice is ahealthcare charity that delivers vital care to people suffering from lifelimiting illnesses across Halton, with staff who work in medical, nursing andcare roles together with those who work with our income generation service thatsupports our fundraising. We employaround 60 staff.

Main duties of the job

Job Summary

Act as the first point of contact for IT issues,providing technical support on hardware, software, and network matters.

Support account management (creation, modification,disabling) while ensuring compliance with GDPR, NHS Digital requirements, andother data security regulations through system updates, security monitoring,and controlled user access.

Assist with the maintenance and updating of ITequipment, asset registers, licences, and warranties.

Providesupport for key hospice systems, including:

* Office 365
* EMIS
* Electronic Prescribing system
* Xero
* Donorflex
* HR systems
* EPOS
* Vantage

Escalateissues appropriately to the Associate Director or external support providers.

Supporttraining sessions, user guides, and IT clinics to build staff IT confidence.

Assist inthe implementation of new applications, upgrades, and security improvements inline with the hospices digital transformation strategy. This includessupporting the expansion of digital clinical systems and approaches that:

* Enhancepatient care
* Streamlineworkflows
* Improvestaff efficiency

Providecover for certain IT-related Associate Director responsibilities during periodsof absence (with training provided).

Qualifications


Conditional and Compliance Checks

* Offers of employment will be conditional and subject to pre-employment checks as deemed appropriate including identity, DBS,qualification, right-to-work, reference checks etc.


Qualifications

* Nationally recognised IT Support qualification or Degree in
* Computer Science, IT, or relevant experience.
* Proven experience as an IT
* Support Assistant or similar role
* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
* Strong Knowledge of Windows 11 & Office 365, software, and networks
* Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices; Remote working and cloud-based systems; Training and user support delivery
* Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues
* Computer Literate
* Ability to develop strong working relationships internally and externally
* Good understanding of GDPR and confidentiality
* Self motivation
* Commitment to personal and professional development
* Flexibility
* Open, honest approach
* Good understanding of LAN/WAN networks
* Strong attention to detail
* An ability to demonstrate reasoning skills to address challenge
* An ability to organise self and others
