I am working with a vibrant and inclusive primary school located in Swindon. There are high expectations for students and SEND students are fully included in all aspects of school life. Students are also taught about the importance of knowledge outside the classroom. Pupils are encouraged to get involved in a number of activities that can nurture their interests such as forest sessions.The school is seeking a dedicated and skilled Primary SEND Teacher to provide accessible and engaging lessons.
The opportunity is a permanent position starting in September. You will play a crucial role as a SEND Teacher based in the specialised centre within the school. As an integral member of the school, you will provide well planned, inspiring lessons to ensure students are enthusiastic and supported in their learning.
Responsibilities :
* Teaching in the Primary resource base of the school.
* Collaborating with the SEN support team in order to foster a positive learning environment.
* Effective implementation of behaviour management strategies
* Adapt teaching in order to cater to children's individual needs.
* Support both inside and outside the classroom.
* Ensure accessibility and inclusivity in the classroom
Requirements :
* QTS
* Experience working with SEN children.
* Passion for working with children with additional needs ; enthusiasm to create a positive relationship and environment.
* Excellent communication skills to work with other teachers and to keep parents updated.
* Understanding of child safeguarding procedures
