Job Title: Dental Nurse
Location: Chesterfield Royal Hospital, Calow, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, S44 5BL
Hours: Ad hoc hours between hours, Monday to Friday

Pay: £14.06 per hour exc WTD
What you'll be responsible for:
· Receive and prepare patients for their treatment within a range of clinics in Maxillofacial and Orthodontics, assisting the lead nurses in the clinics.
· Preparation of Maxillofacial and Orthodontic clinics in relation to equipment, instruments and clinical records.
· Prepare surgical kits and assist for Maxillofacial surgical procedures and emergencies.
· Deliver individual programmes of care in Orthodontics and Oral Maxillofacial including oral health education
· Ensure the smooth and safe transition of patients through the Maxillofacial and Orthodontic department including assisting and chaperoning the medical staff.
· Be responsible for the maintenance of equipment and furnishings in the department, reporting defects to the appropriate authorities
· Assist the Senior Dental Nurse and Matron to monitor the standards of care, taking action to report where necessary to improve the delivery of care to patients
· Be responsible to correctly input patient's credentials on to department's databases systems, and various medical equipment databases. Help maintain the safe storage and retrieval of patient data. Use responsibly the Trust patients PAS system such as Medway.
You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
You'll have the following skills/experience:
· NEBDN National Certificate/Diploma in Dental Nursing or NVQ level 3 oral health care.
· Registered with the general Dental council
· Experienced qualified Dental Nurse
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of
· Relevant Qualifications
· Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable.
