A global pharmaceutical organisation is seeking a Data Acquisition Lead to support its patient safety operations team. This is a 12-month contract opportunity ideal for a safety data professional who brings both operational oversight and strategic thinking to pharmacovigilance (PV) data challenges.
Working at the intersection of science, technology, and compliance, the role focuses on improving how critical safety data is accessed, analysed, and utilised across the business. The position supports global pharmacovigilance goals by building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and third-party data suppliers, designing new frameworks and KPIs, and influencing upstream data processes. The right individual will bring credibility, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement in a complex regulatory environment.
Your role as Data Acquisition Lead
* Lead the development and implementation of data acquisition strategies that meet pharmacovigilance standards and enable scientific insight
* Oversee vendor relationships and ensure compliance in outsourced data acquisition processes
* Act as a consultant to internal stakeholders on the downstream impact of new data sources and regulatory data requirements
* Design and refine performance metrics, KPIs, and data quality measures to monitor the data supply chain
* Contribute to internal business improvement projects and lead specific portfolio initiatives focused on data strategy
* Develop training content for data suppliers and support corrective actions following audits or deviations
Experience and qualifications for the Data Acquisition Lead role
* Degree-qualified with around 4 years of industry experience, ideally in pharmacovigilance or a related data role
* Strong understanding of pharmaceutical product development and the broader personalised healthcare ecosystem
* Skilled at stakeholder engagement and comfortable influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority
* Demonstrated success in managing third-party vendors and external partners in a global setting
* Capable of applying quality assurance frameworks and systems thinking to improve data processes
* Confident operating in agile environments, including matrix or virtual teams across geographies
