We’re partnering with a rapidly scaling, private equity-backed consumer business that has undergone significant transformation over the past few years — both through acquisition and strong organic growth. This is a pivotal time to join as the business continues to evolve and professionalise its finance function.
This is a newly created, high-impact role, sitting at the heart of Group Finance and reporting directly to the Group Finance Director.
The Opportunity
This is more than a traditional controllership role. You’ll take ownership of the management accounting function, ensuring consistency, quality and control across multiple entities — while also having the scope to broaden your remit over time.
You’ll be instrumental in shaping “what good looks like” across the function — driving standards, improving processes and building a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, develop and inspire the Management Accounting team
* Own and enhance the month-end close and consolidation process (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
* Deliver high-quality board and investor reporting
* Drive consistency in accounting policies and best practice across the Group
* Partner closely with divisional finance teams to ensure alignment and collaboration
* Support year-end audit processes and statutory reporting requirements
* Take ownership of balance sheet integrity and review processes
* Lead on complex accounting areas (e.g. impairments, technical accounting topics)
* Contribute to broader Group Finance initiatives and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong post-qualified experience
* Proven track record of leading and developing teams
* Strong technical grounding with the ability to operate hands-on when needed
* Experience in a multi-entity, fast-paced or PE-backed environment is highly advantageous
* Gravitas and credibility to influence at senior leadership level
* A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a drive to improve and evolve
* Strong communication skills — able to translate financial detail into clear insight
