Main duties of the job
In accordance with the agreed practice timetable, the post-holder will be available to carry out a range of general practitioner duties. These include, but are not limited to: conducting clinics (routine face-to-face, telephone and home visit appointments; duty doctor sessions; e-consult triage clinics; and same-day support GP work); managing results, tasks, documents, paperwork and referrals in a timely manner; checking and signing repeat prescriptions and participating in quality improvement activities and learning event analysis.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* A vocationally trained and accredited GP
* GMC Registration
* MRCGP
* Membership of recognised defence union
* Currently on performers list
* A demonstrable commitment to professional development
* Understands the importance of evidence based practice and clinical effectiveness
Skills
* Advanced clinical assessment skills including history taking/clinical examination
* Use of expert knowledge and clinical judgment to identify the potential diagnosis
* Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills
* Strong levels of IT proficiency and familiarity with primary care clinical systems (EMIS WEB)
* Experience in using the Microsoft suite of programmes
* Ability to assimilate large quantities of information quickly and accurately and communicate it clearly
* Self-motivated with the ability to support and enthuse
