Shipping (Transactional) Associate (3–6 PQE) | London
We’re working on a fantastic opportunity with a leading international law firm looking to hire a Shipping (Transactional) Associate (3–6 PQE) into its London team.
This is a chance to join a globally recognised shipping practice, advising on the full lifecycle of shipping transactions across a diverse international client base.
The Role
You’ll work closely with partners and colleagues across a highly integrated global team, advising on a broad range of domestic and cross-border shipping transactions, including:
* Shipbuilding and ship sale & purchase
* Ship finance, restructuring and workouts
* Ownership structures and vessel registration
* Charter arrangements (bareboat, time charters, pooling)
* Sale and leaseback transactions
* Ship management and operational matters
* Ship recycling and regulatory issues
You’ll also collaborate with corporate teams on related agreements (e.g. JVs, shareholder arrangements, services agreements) and may gain exposure to high-end yacht work.
What We’re Looking For
* England & Wales qualified with 3–6 PQE
* Strong experience in transactional shipping matters
* Excellent drafting and transaction management skills
* Commercial, proactive and confident working directly with clients
* A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, international environment
