We are looking for a patient and experienced SEN tutor to work with a school-aged student in their home. The student has Special Educational Needs (SEN) and requires personalised support to help them develop academically, socially, and emotionally. This is a one-to-one tutoring role that involves creating tailored lessons to suit the student’s specific learning style, while ensuring that their SEN needs are met in a calm, supportive, and structured environment.

* They may have emotional or behavioural needs that require a nurturing, patient approach.
* A calm, flexible, and encouraging tutor will be most effective in supporting their progress.

Experience working with SEN students, particularly those with conditions such as ADHD, autism, dyslexia, or other learning difficulties.
* A calm, empathetic, and patient approach that helps build trust and encourages progress.
* Experience creating individualised learning plans and using a variety of teaching strategies, including visual aids, hands-on activities, and sensory tools.
* Excellent communication skills, both with the student and their family, to provide regular updates and feedback on progress.
* Enhanced DBS check (current or willingness to obtain one).

Relevant teaching qualifications such as QTS, PGCE, or equivalent are beneficial but not essential.
* Specific training in SEN (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia) is highly desirable.
* Experience working in one-to-one or small group settings with children with additional needs.
* Familiarity with specific SEN strategies, such as scaffolding, visual learning, or behaviour management techniques.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
