Qualifications
* A good standard of education, minimum GCSE English & Maths or equivalent
* Evidence of professional development in palliative care
* Diploma in Palliative Care/Oncology/Community or working towards
Experience
* Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate care
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
* Drug calculation skills and awareness of NMC Standards of Medicines Management
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Organizational skills for workload management
* IT skills and willingness to learn SystmOne
* Up-to-date competency in communication, clinical practice, leadership, education, grief, and management; RCN competencies
* Knowledge of hospice and palliative care philosophy
* Ability to supervise nursing assistants, students, and volunteers
* Mentoring and teaching skills
* Motivational skills
* Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
* Awareness of hospice and national practice developments
* Post-qualification experience (minimum 3 months), including general nursing and palliative care experience
* Community and acute medical ward experience
* Oncology knowledge
