About The Role
As an Assistant Connections Coordinator Advanced Apprentice at National Grid, you’ll be part of our Customer Network Development (CND) team, playing a key role in connecting homes, businesses, and communities to the energy network.
Within this role, you will contribute to National Grid’s mission to enable the energy transition and support a more sustainable future. The Connections and Development (CND) team is actively redesigning how customers are connected to energy, focusing on reducing lead times and improving customer satisfaction. As an Assistant Connections Coordinator Advanced Apprentice, you’ll play a key role in driving this innovation and helping shape the future of energy connections.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for customer inquiries, delivering high‑quality service and managing expectations throughout the connection process.
* Support key steps in the connection journey, such as tracking applications and aiding project delivery.
* Collaborate with different teams, including Customer Connections and regional teams, to help organise customer meetings and keep operations running smoothly.
* Maintain accurate system data and records, ensuring timely submissions to Ofgem and managing our internal platforms.
* Support the transition to Net Zero and RIIO‑T2 by improving data and contributing to customer strategy.
Location
This role is based in the Warwick office and may offer flexible and hybrid working throughout the programme. You will be required to attend training at our Training Centre in Eakring, Newark. Training may involve multiple nights away from home and travel to locations such as Eakring; you may use public transport if you do not drive.
About You
* You will have (or predict achieving) a minimum of five GCSEs with grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), including English language and Maths or equivalent.
You do not need prior work experience; the determination and will to succeed is far more important as we will teach you everything you need to know. The role will provide you with a variety of skills and transferable career development support within National Grid.
