Environmental Coordinator
Salary: £34,000 – £44,000
We are working with a well-established construction and infrastructure business looking to appoint an Environmental Coordinator to support project delivery and ensure full environmental compliance across live sites.
This role suits someone with hands-on construction or civil engineering experience who is confident managing environmental controls, permits, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with UK environmental legislation, planning conditions, and company policies
*
Support and maintain Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs) and Site Waste Management Plans
*
Coordinate environmental monitoring for air, water, noise, and biodiversity
*
Prepare environmental reports, data analysis, and records for audits and submissions
*
Manage environmental permits and licences (e.g. EA, MMO, FRAP, discharge consents)
*
Liaise with ecologists, specialists, and sub-consultants to meet project requirements
*
Provide environmental input into bid and tender submissions
*
Lead environmental incident investigations and corrective actions
*
Deliver site briefings and toolbox talks to promote best practice
*
Support ISO 14001 audits and sustainability initiatives (carbon reduction, biodiversity net gain)
Skills & Experience
*
3–5 years’ experience in an environmental role within construction, civils, or consultancy
*
Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and permitting
*
Experience producing and implementing environmental management plans
*
Confident working with site teams and multiple stakeholders
*
Understanding of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems
Qualifications & Requirements
*
Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or similar
*
IEMA / ISEP membership (or working towards)
*
Full UK driving licence
*
CSCS card or equivalent (preferred)
