This is an excellent opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician seeking to develop their clinical experience and contribute to innovative research within a supportive, forward thinking team.

About The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and proactive pharmacy technician to join our pharmacy clinical trials and paediatric clinical technician team delivering the highest quality pharmacy services across these areas.

The post provides service to the Royal Hospital for Children & Young People which is co-located with the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh Pharmacy Department.

Working closely with both pharmacy services and the research multi-disciplinary team, you will support the delivery of clinical trials for paediatric patients in NHS Lothian. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Pharmacy Technician to develop your career in the rapidly evolving pharmacy clinical trials service in NHS Lothian as well as being an important member of the paediatric clinical pharmacy team delivering high quality of patient care, participate in ongoing service development in a patient focused role to optimise medicines use, support patient flow and contribute towards ongoing delivery and development of the clinical pharmacy service.

Experience And Knowledge
You should demonstrate an interest in research with a good working knowledge of hospital pharmacy services and must be reliable, have good communication and organisational skills and the ability to deliver a service, whilst also working to deadlines. You must be able to work independently as well as being able to work effectively as part of a team.

As part of a supportive team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, you will play an integral role in the multidisciplinary team, ensuring the safe and effective supply of medicines to patients.

About You
We're looking for someone who:

* Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* National Certificate in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
* Scottish Vocational Qualification Level 3 in Pharmacy Services
* HN Unit: Procedures for Pharmacy Dispensary Checking Technicians or Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician Award (provided by Buttercups or NPA, 2019 or before)
* HNC in Pharmacy Services Development and Management or equivalent experience. However, individuals who do not possess this qualification but can demonstrate equivalent professional experience may also be considered. In such instances, a Mapping Assessment Form must be completed and submitted as part of the application process.
