Are you a talented and ambitious Senior Cost Manager based in the Southwest looking to work on exciting infrastructure projects that can change the world? We are looking for Cost Managers to support our growth plans, working with key infrastructure clients in the Southwest, particularly in the water and environment sectors, to deliver capital projects and programmes. You will join an established team that values innovation and cutting-edge solutions.
Here’s what you’ll do
As a Senior Cost Manager within our Buildings & Places Infrastructure team, you will provide a comprehensive, accurate and value-driven service for large, high-profile clients within the water sector (e.g., Southwest Water and the Environment Agency). The role may also involve work across highways, rail and power sectors for clients such as Highways England, Network Rail and National Grid. The role covers all aspects of cost management from inception through to completion, with opportunities to support business growth and the development of team members.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
* Deliver all aspects of cost management from project inception to completion, including feasibility estimates, cost planning, contract procurement, tender documentation, value engineering, risk management, dispute resolution, post-contract management, and final accounts.
* Maintain high standards of professional competence in dealings with clients and professional contacts.
* Drive performance standards and technical excellence through effective communication and use of practice networks.
* Maintain and develop good client relationships and uphold the firm’s profile as a provider of professional, premium services.
* Support internal teams and guide junior staff on technically complex projects.
* Develop marketing opportunities and, where appropriate, bring leads to Directors and the Business Development Department to grow the workload.
Qualifications
Here’s what we’re looking for:
* Experience and a strong track record in Cost Management/Quantity Surveying, ideally on large-scale infrastructure projects.
* Good working knowledge of NEC4 contracts, particularly PSC and ECC.
* Experience of cost/commercial management as part of integrated, multi-organization, collaborative teams.
* Experience of working within a client organization or through a co-location/secondment arrangement is beneficial.
* Ability to identify and influence key client stakeholders and build effective relationships to grow workload/portfolio.
* Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
* MRICS accreditation (or working towards membership).
