Tenancy Enforcement Support Officer Job description
We are looking for a Tenancy Enforcement and Support Officer to work as part of Sheffield City Council's Housing and Neighbourhood Service, within our Repairs Policy and Improvement Team.
This role will support the management of failed entry to properties to carry out cyclical gas safety inspections. The role will require intensive work with Neighbourhood Management Teams and various support services across the city to ensure that this annual check is completed, and we comply with our Landlord responsibilities.
After cases have been investigated, the candidate will make judgments about whether the Council needs to proceed with legal action and will prepare cases for legal action, such as preparing witness statements and legal letters. Regular liaison with our legal services team will be essential to ensure successful resolution of cases and that enforcement actions proceed efficiently.
The job holder will be expected to use their own vehicle to travel to conduct site visits. A mileage allowance is payable.
The role is full time (37 hours) and based at Solpro Business Park, Attercliffe, Sheffield, with an expectation to work remotely at home. It will be a hybrid role, with some time spent visiting sites (40%) and the remainder working in the office or remotely.

Full-time employees work 37 hours per week for 52 weeks and are offered a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to flexible working arrangements, including reduced hours, part-time work, or job sharing.
If appointed, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence of a higher basic pay, we will consider starting you at a higher point within the grade.
All roles are undergoing a pay evaluation process which may lead to changes in pay arrangements from 2026.
