Surface Mount Assembly Technician/Operator
The role involves assisting in the manufacture of a wide range of electronic assemblies within the production department to ensure goods are produced in a timely manner to meet customer deadlines.
The Job
* Assembling small volume surface mount PCBs by hand, including operation of our reflow oven.
* Manufacturing cable assemblies.
* Operating the pick and place machine, including loading components.
* Programming the pick and place machine for new boards using a PC.
* Assisting with mechanical assembly of products when required.
* Liaising with the engineering team regarding production issues.
* Maintaining a tidy and safe work environment.
The Person
* Ability to hand solder. Knowledge of IPC-A-610 (best practice) and other standards. An IPC qualification is desirable but not essential if you have relevant experience. A practical test will be part of the selection process.
* Experience assembling SMT PCBs to required standards.
* Knowledge of pick and place technology, PCB production, and gerber files.
* Understanding manufacturing documents and following instructions.
* Experience in a professional manufacturing environment.
* Comfortable with PC use and effective communication skills.
* Seeking an individual with existing knowledge and skills to contribute to our products.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexibility in start and finish times within current business hours (08:00 to 17:30) is available.
