Job Description
Head of Private Capital Operations:The role leads the UK Private Capital and Loan Solutions Client Delivery teams, overseeing day-to-day client servicing and acting as a senior escalation point. It ensures fund structures comply with legal, regulatory, and accounting standards while maintaining services in line with client KPIs, SLAs, and contracts. The position drives operational excellence and process standardization through collaboration with global teams, system automation, and continuous improvement initiatives. A strong focus is placed on risk management, business continuity, and embedding a robust control culture within the department.Team leadership involves developing and motivating staff, ensuring effective resource planning, fostering professional growth, and embedding succession planning. The role promotes inclusivity, accountability, and adherence to HR policies, while overseeing recruitment, onboarding, and performance management to build a high-performing, engaged workforce.Strategically, the position contributes to business growth by working closely with global and local teams to align operations with client, market, and regulatory demands. It supports innovation and profitability through efficient, risk-managed service delivery. Strong stakeholder management is required, including collaboration with fund sponsors, auditors, regulators, and internal partners, as well as participation in new business initiatives and client relationship management.In terms of financial oversight, the role ensures budget compliance, cost efficiency, and accurate resource allocation. It develops management information (MI) to support key decisions and regularly reviews profitability with relevant teams. The Successful Applicant
Essential Requirements - Head of Private Capital Operations
5. Must have held a similar role to the one described in the Head of Private Capital Operations role specification
6. Demonstrable experience leading large teams of technical experts preferably within private capital
7. Proven track record in servicing Private Capital Structures across a broad range of asset classes
8. A thorough detailed knowledge of various Private Capital fund structures and the administration and accounting required as well as a strong understanding of the valuation process for complex financial instruments and the economics involved in transactions involving these
9. In depth knowledge of industry recommended standards (e.g. BVCA, ILPA, IPEV) and how they are applied in practise
10. First class stakeholder management skills with the ability to connect with all levels of stakeholders internally and externally
11. Proven leader & change agent with the ability to inspire, motivate and engage teams through transformational change
12. Strong track record in operations and controls
13. Client focus & results driven
14. Strong written and verbal communication (internal and external)
15. Strong Planning & organising inclusive of project management/sponsorship experience
16. Professional Accounting Qualification (ACCA/ICAEW or equivalent) would be an advantage, although not essential
