Our client is an award winning civil and environmental engineering company delivering effective solutions for the maintenance and management of the UK’s waterways. The company is restoring a wetland habitat in Rainham, re-using material generated from in-house dredging operations on the Thames, and major infrastructure projects. The main site activity utilises the company’s own wharf to unload and transport materials from barges and managing the disposal of those materials once onsite. The jetty facility is an approved port allowing ships to be loaded/unloaded with bulk waste cargoes. In addition to this, planning has been approved for a Soil-Washing Facility. The company is looking to recruit a Works Manager to lead day‑to‑day site delivery on the restoration project, managing a small, multidisciplinary team and subcontractors to achieve quality, safety, environmental and cost targets. The Works Manager sets the tone on site—a ‘hands‑on’ team player and clear communicator who plans, solves problems early, and fosters a strong safety and collaboration culture.
