Job Purpose
This position reports directly to the APU and EOS Manager and supports the EnerSys Operating System (EOS) transformation efforts. The role involves implementing and supporting initiatives that improve operations and processes, focusing on safety, quality, delivery, growth, margin expansion, and inventory management. Projects will align with regional and plant lean deployment efforts, meeting established business guidelines, criteria, and metrics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Support EOS goals by executing both long-term and short-term objectives.
* Collaborate with other departments within APU to identify and eliminate process obstacles.
* Assist in system and process changes to support EOS initiatives.
* Utilize mapping techniques to optimize information, material, and production flows.
* Maintain a shopfloor presence and lead improvement projects.
* Act as a change agent by leading and supporting Rapid Improvement Events (RIE), standard work, Gemba walks, and coaching employees on continuous improvement and problem-solving techniques.
* Update and maintain visual performance tools, accountability boards, and Heydo.
* Support cycle time analysis, work balance/flow improvements, and workplace analysis.
* Assist in root cause analysis and preventative measures.
* Develop efficient utilization of people, machinery, materials, information, and energy to improve products or services.
Experience / Skills Requirements
* Proven experience deploying lean tools and methodologies such as 5S and problem solving.
* Ability to lead and direct shopfloor improvement teams.
* Results-oriented change agent with strong problem-solving and project management skills.
* Flexible and adaptable to role requirements.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Mentoring ability and capacity to facilitate organizational change.
* Team motivation and conflict resolution skills.
* Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.
* Understanding of manufacturing principles/practices.
Education / Qualifications
* Minimum of 24 months manufacturing process experience.
* Certified lean belt or equivalent experience.
