Fawkes & Reece are partnering with a well-established civil engineering contractor specializing in civils and groundworks to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. The company delivers high-quality civils and groundworks packages on a variety of building projects across the South West. With a strong pipeline of secured work in Bristol, Somerset, and North Devon, this is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor to join a specialist contractor offering long-term stability and career progression.
Responsibilities
* Manage the commercial performance of multiple civils and groundworks packages
* Prepare valuations, cost reports, and financial forecasts
* Procure, negotiate, and manage subcontractors
* Handle variations, change control, and final accounts
* Support operational teams to ensure cost control and commercial success
* Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
* Ensure projects remain on budget and commercially profitable
About You
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering or groundworks
* Experience working on civils and groundworks packages for residential, commercial, or infrastructure building projects
* Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills
* Good understanding of construction contracts (NEC / JCT preferred)
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Full UK driving licence

* £60,000 - £70,000 salary
