Role: Learning Support Assistant
Location: M12, Manchester
Start Date: September 2025 (or ASAP)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM (30-minute lunch break)
Pay: £13.69 to £15.87 per hour (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, long-term (opportunity to go permanent)
Reeson Education is recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist alternative provision in the M12 area of Manchester. This Learning Support Assistant position offers the chance to make a long-term impact within a small, supportive setting that caters to pupils aged 11 to 16 with a variety of additional needs.
As a Learning Support Assistant in this setting, you'll be supporting students who may present with SEMH, ADHD, ASD, and other complex needs. Some pupils will be working at primary levels academically, so the Learning Support Assistant must be flexible, adaptive, and creative in their approach to learning support.

Key responsibilities for this Learning Support Assistant role:
Supporting individual and small groups of pupils aged 11 to 16, some working below expected age levels
Delivering fun, interactive, and engaging learning sessions tailored to emotional and academic needs
Promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour through a consistent and trauma-informed approach
Assisting with transition, engagement, and re-integration back into structured learning
Working closely with the SENCO and therapeutic team to deliver holistic support
Acting as a role model for calm, patience, and resilience throughout the school day
