The Role
Are you a handyperson? A practical powerhouse who carries tools in case of an emergency? Do you find real satisfaction in solving problems and fixing issues?
You’ll make Locke feel like home by keeping our building and apartments looking fresh, so our guests feel comfortable, relaxed, and cared-for. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll service, repair, paint, and upkeep apartments with pride and care.
What it looks like…
* Making sure apartments are looking their best and ready for guests’ arrivals
* Keeping apartments looking great and functioning smoothly throughout guests’ stays
* Carrying out maintenance quickly and efficiently when needed
* Looking ahead to potential future maintenance issues and proactively resolving them
* Being on-call for maintenance needs, including out-of-hours on a rota system
* Supporting management in maintaining health and safety standards
* Managing new building works and projects, including supporting refurbishments
* Liaising with and managing contractors
* Being comfortable working independently and as part of a team
* Participating actively in team meetings and development sessions
* Providing thorough handovers to front desk to keep the housekeeping team informed about maintenance developments
* Working closely with the team to ensure uninterrupted service to guests
* Communicating calmly with guests to resolve any issues
What you’ll need…
* Ideally experience in a customer-facing role
* Practical knowledge of plumbing, gas, or electrics (trade qualifications are a plus)
* Strong customer service skills
* Problem-solving mindset
* Good decision-making skills
* Confidence to act quickly and take informed risks
* Basic proficiency in spoken and written English
* Impeccable attention to detail
* Excellent time management skills
* Flexible approach and a can-do attitude
* Confidence in using IT systems and software (including Microsoft Office)
