Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is a large District General Hospital with an expanding cardio-respiratory diagnostic department committed to developing future Cardiac Physiologists/Healthcare Scientists.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team delivering cardiac and respiratory diagnostics across Calderdale Royal Hospital, Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, and the new Community Diagnostic Spoke and Hub in Halifax and Huddersfield communities.
The post holder should hold a BSc (Hons) in Clinical Physiology (Cardiology/Respiratory) or Healthcare Science, with applicants in the final year encouraged to apply. They must hold ILS certification and register with AHCS/RCCP within 3 months of appointment, demonstrating a dedicated, reliable, and committed attitude to supporting the service.
The role involves working as a key member of the Cardio-Respiratory Service, performing various diagnostic procedures in different healthcare settings, including:
* Physiological measurement testing and reporting in Cardio-Respiratory procedures
* ECGs, ambulatory ECGs, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring
* Basic and full lung function testing, exercise testing
* Myocardial perfusion scanning and angiography
The candidate will also supervise and train students and apprentices, use judgment to inform medical teams of untoward reports, and collaborate daily to ensure smooth service operation.

Additional responsibilities include liaising with medical colleagues, analyzing abnormal reports, recognizing significant abnormalities, training students, providing Immediate Life Support, routine maintenance, organizing clinical workload, infection control, working autonomously within policies, manual handling, and working across various departments as required.
