Community Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Mental Health Nurse to join our Community Mental Health Team based in Bishop Auckland. The role involves supporting adults living with mental health needs. The service offers assessment and treatment within the community setting with the primary aim of promoting both recovery and living well.
Main duties of the job
Within the Dales Community Intervention team we have mixed roles, from triage, telephone and face-to-face assessments, one-to-one unguided interventions and delivering groups, as well as working alongside patients with enduring mental health problems and long-term medication.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to develop into a community role within a team of supportive and experienced professionals. You will demonstrate excellent assessment skills, interpersonal and team working skills and be able to work collaboratively with a range of statutory and third sector agencies.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council RNMH or RNLD
* To be recognised practice assessor / mentor or work towards in an agreed timescale
* Trained Clinical Supervisor (within 6 month probationary period)
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
Experience
* Working with people with mental ill health / learning disabilities
* Working in a person-centred therapeutic organisation
* Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers
* Working in a multi-disciplinary team
* Working in partnership with other agencies
Knowledge
* Evidence based knowledge of best practice in caring for patients in the designated field
* Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act)
* Understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice
* Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice
* Clinical Governance and its application in practice.
* Confident working knowledge of clinical medicines management, including administration of injections
