Project Manager – Anaerobic Digestion

Our client is a leading UK provider of anaerobic digestion (AD) solutions supporting the agriculture and waste management sectors. With more than 30 years of industry experience, the business delivers a broad range of services including plant design, consultancy, upgrades, and ongoing operational support for AD facilities across the UK. Their work also includes delivering major plant upgrades and supporting projects within the utilities sector.
The Role
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a specialist design and delivery team. The role will oversee the full lifecycle of AD projects, including plant expansions, upgrades, and new build schemes. You will manage projects from initial proposal through to commissioning and handover, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the required technical and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage projects across the full lifecycle, from concept and design through to installation, commissioning, and close-out
* Coordinate internal teams, suppliers, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery
* Develop project budgets, construction programmes, and resource plans
* Monitor and report on project costs, schedules, and progress
* Manage procurement activities, including engagement with equipment suppliers and M&E contractors
* Ensure contractual compliance, including issuing notices and managing commercial aspects of projects
* Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and third-party interfaces
* Ensure all work is delivered in line with organisational policies, best practice, and health & safety regulations
* Work closely with engineering and construction teams to ensure designs are robust and constructible

Skills & Experience
Essential
* BTEC / ONC / 5 GCSEs
* A Levels
* HNC / HND or equivalent technical qualification
* Experience managing engineering, infrastructure, or process-based projects
Desirable
* Degree qualification (BA / BEng or equivalent)
* Experience within anaerobic digestion, renewable energy, utilities, or process engineering environments
