Vehicle Technician – Kirkby‑In‑Ashfield
Ashfield District Council invites applications for the position of Vehicle Technician based in Kirkby‑In‑Ashfield. The role is full‑time, permanent, with a competitive salary of £35,412 – £38,220 per annum (pay award pending).
Location: Ashfield District Council is located in North Nottinghamshire, within easy reach of Nottingham, Derby and Sheffield.
Key responsibilities include maintaining a large and varied fleet of vehicles and plant equipment, ranging from 32‑tonne refuse collection vehicles to Massey Ferguson tractors and mowers. The role involves regular inspection, servicing, and troubleshooting of all fleet vehicles and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Qualifications and experience required:
* Level 3 HGV vehicle technician with a valid license.
* Current MOT testing qualifications or willingness to undertake MOT training.
* Experience with commercial vehicle maintenance and fleet management is an advantage.
