Alexander James Recruiting is working with a leading provider of warehouse racking, storage & shelving seeking a new office based CAD Design Engineer to assist the sales & projects teams in creating racking designs for the company’s clients around the West Midlands. Responsibilities
Using AutoCAD software to design and create technical drawings for racking and storage systems based on requirements supplied by the sales/projects team
Supporting the sales/projects teams in quoting and winning contracts for the business
Amending layout designs throughout the durations of the project to best suit the clients’ needs whilst complying with Health & Safety standards
Taking in-bound customer enquiries and support clients over the phone as and when required
Liaising with suppliers to ensure projects are delivered to the laid out time frames
Assisting with other areas of the business as and when requiredRequirements
The company are ideally looking for a candidate with experience of designing layouts using AutoCAD within Racking, Storage, Mezzanines or Partitioning. It would also be highly preferrable for the successful individual to hold a HNC in Engineering or another engineering/design focused qualification. It is essential for the requirements of the role that you are comfortable speaking to clients over the phone as this will be a key part of the role. In terms of location, you will need to be based in the West Midlands since the role will be office based.
