Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Gedling
Salary Range: £90 - £110 (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: September 2025
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive school setting in Gedling. This role is ideal for individuals who are patient, enthusiastic, and eager to make a difference in the lives of students with diverse needs.
About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health challenges. You will work closely with teaching staff and SENCOs to provide 1:1 and small group support, ensuring all students can access learning in a safe and positive environment.
Job Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN, ensuring individual learning goals are met.
* Assist the class teacher in implementing EHCPs and differentiated lesson plans.
* Foster a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment tailored to individual pupil needs.
* Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication challenges, and behavioural needs.
* Promote independence, confidence, and self-esteem through personalised guidance and encouragement.
* Liaise effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
* Monitor and record student progress, identifying areas for additional support and intervention.
Job Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children with SEN, either in a school or alternative provision setting.
* A calm, patient, and understanding approach to supporting children with complex needs.
* Good knowledge of SEN strategies, particularly around ASD, ADHD, and SEMH.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with students and staff.
* Relevant TA qualification or SEN training is desirable.
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
