The Older Person Short Stay Unit is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic Ward Clerk / Receptionist.

The Job requires someone to multitask and to work as a member of the team providing an efficient and comprehensive clerical/booking support service and thereby supporting the delivery of high quality service to patients and staff within the Department.

Main duties of the job

1. To work as part of the team and as part of the larger team to deliver an efficient, reliable, safe and friendly service.
2. To welcome patients, carers, relatives, visitors and other health care staff on arrival to the unit and to be responsible for registering patients on arrival and checking and updating patient details.
3. To relay any patient medical information to professional staff as well as checking patient information on the WPAS, Signal and WCP systems and updating as appropriate.
4. To maintain medical and nursing records, together with all reports, results and X-rays for patients and correspondence from other departments.

Qualifications & Knowledge

Essential criteria

5. 5 GCSEs or equivalent, Grade C or above.
6. Level 2 or equivalent demonstrable experience/knowledge in Business Administration or similar
7. RSA II or equivalent demonstrable experience.
8. Proof of appropriate CPD.

Essential Aptitude and Abilties

Essential criteria

9. Can demonstrate SBU values
10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
11. Ability to work to meet deadlines.
12. Ability to prioritise.
13. Ability to use Microsoft Office e.g. word/excel and virtual platforms e.g. Teams etc

14. Experience of working in an administrative/office environment.
