This post is 37 hours (term time only), fixed term until March 2025 (with the likelihood of contract extension) What will the role look like? Our Counselling & Wellbeing Service delivers a range of school and community-based individual and group counselling to adults, children and young people. We provide a children young people’s counselling service across Beeston, Cottingley & Middelton. School-based therapists provide short term targeted emotional health and wellbeing support, via a range of therapeutic interventions, for children and young people. The purpose of the counsellor’s role is to provide short-term 12 weeks, evidence-based therapeutic interventions to pupils in primary and secondary schools. What we are looking for? Applicants must demonstrate within their application how they meet the essential requirements as listed in the Personal Specification and hold a relevant counselling qualification. Applicants will also need to demonstrate a good understanding of the particular factors and issues faced by children and young people in relation to the maintenance of good mental health and emotional wellbeing. Salary is dependent on the candidate's experience and meeting of job requirements: Level 1 - £30,000pa pro-rata – successful candidates will have the opportunity to progress to level 2 with support and continuous professional development after 12 months in the role and with satisfactory performance Level 2 - £32,000pa pro-rata – successful candidates meet and can demonstrate at interview all requirements and have required post qualifying experience To download a full job description/person specification, click here.
