1M Planer Operator
We're expanding our fleet of 1M Wirtgen planers and are looking for experienced operators to join our established team of 15. If you take pride in your work, enjoy travelling across the UK, and want to work with some of the industry's leading contractors, we'd love to hear from you.
With three depots across the South West, the North, and our head office in Evesham—where this role is based—we're well‑placed to serve projects nationwide. You'll be operating a tracked 1M road planer and working closely with our 350s, half‑metre, and 2‑metre crews.
What You'll Do
* Operate a 1M planer safely and efficiently, ensuring each job is completed to a high standard.
* Work directly with customers, carrying out site walk‑arounds and confirming job requirements.
* Complete tasks such as changing picks, kerb dipping, marking ironwork, and setting levels.
* Carry out daily checks on the planer and van, reporting any defects promptly.
* Ensure all plant remains compliant, including meeting all legislative requirements.
* Follow all maintenance procedures and keep equipment in excellent condition.
* Complete site‑specific risk assessments and communicate findings clearly.
* Induct Jet and cross‑hire teams on site rules and expectations.
What You Bring
* Solid experience in plant operations, ideally within road planing and construction.
* CSCS Road Planer – Skilled Worker (preferred).
* NVQ Level 2 in Road Planing (preferred).
* Site Safety Plus certification (preferred).
* A willingness to travel and work varied shift patterns.
* A positive, reliable approach and strong teamwork skills.
