The Bid Writer & Coordinator supports the preparation and submission of high-quality bids and tenders across the practice. The role is delivery-focused, ensuring bids are well written, compliant, well organised and submitted on time, while making the process smoother for project teams.
This is a hands-on coordination and writing role, not a strategic leadership position.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
Bid coordination
* Coordinate the bid process from opportunity confirmation through to submission.
* Develop bid programmes with clear deadlines and responsibilities.
* Organise kick-off meetings and internal reviews.
* Chase inputs and manage versions calmly and professionally.
* Work closely with BD Lead on delivery
Bid writing & content
* Draft and edit clear, persuasive responses aligned to scoring criteria.
* Translate technical content into accessible, client-focused narrative.
* Ensure tone of voice reflects Buttress’ values, culture, purpose, manifesto and reputation.
* Tailor responses for public and private sector submissions.
* Ensure bids are fully compliant with tender requirements.
* Complete PQQs, framework submissions and portal uploads accurately.
* Proofread and check formatting, structure and clarity.
* Work with brand colleagues to ensure visual consistency.
Content management
* Maintain bid libraries, case studies, CVs and boilerplate content.
* Flag gaps in content and support continuous improvement and contribute to the ongoing improvement of bid processes, templates and content over time.
* Work closely with marketing and brand colleagues to ensure visual consistency and clarity
ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has 2–4 years’ experience in bid writing or coordination within architecture, construction, consultancy or professional services.
* Takes pride in producing high-quality work.
* Shows confidence in managing deadlines and multiple contributors.
* Is comfortable working with senior stakeholders.
You don’t need to know everything from day one; curiosity and a willingness to get stuck in matter just as much as experience.
