TIER 2 CERTIFICATE OF SPONSORSHIP (formerly Work Permit)
Applications from doctors who require a Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcomed and will be considered alongside all EU and UK trained doctors. Upon appointment, the relevant paperwork will be issued to the successful applicant, if required.
OVERVIEW
The hospital offers an excellent starting salary (dependent on experience) with pay enhancements for overtime, shift, and out-of-hours work. The average working week is 39 hours, with overtime opportunities as needed.
As a SHO/Senior House Officer, you will work closely with other junior doctors, registrar doctors, and Consultants within your department. You must maintain communication with colleagues on duty before and after your shift to ensure continuity of patient care. You will instruct nursing staff and professional technical staff in investigations necessary for patient care and ensure all departments are fully informed with essential information.
DUTIES (guideline only)
* Provide safe and effective care of patients.
* Have delegated responsibility for all patients under the care of the attached Consultant, including emergency cover and when other SHOs are off duty.
* Refer to the Consultant when issues arise beyond your authority or experience and oversee and advise House Officers.
* Apply specialist knowledge and skills across a range of procedures and practices, supported by theoretical knowledge.
* Maintain ongoing responsibility for patient care and departmental functioning.
* Provide diagnosis and treatment for all patient categories in the department.
* Participate in staff meetings, forums, and development programs to support service development and high-quality care.
SALARY
The salary ranges from £37,068 to £57,650 per annum, based on the national salary scale outlined in the Medical & Dental Terms / Conditions.
PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The post-holder must stay current with their area of practice and demonstrate this to the hospital/trust/GMC. The trust supports continuing professional development, providing time and financial support, aligned with Royal College requirements and GMC revalidation.
STUDY LEAVE
Professional or study leave is granted for approved purposes, including time off for study, research, teaching, examinations, external clinics, and conferences. The maximum study leave allowance is 10 days per year.
