The Job
A leading and well established agricultural and turf machinery business is expanding its Professional Turf division and is seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to develop and grow a key territory. This is a field based role offering full ownership of a developing area, covering key locations across Yorkshire and surrounding regions. You will work closely with customers across golf, sports turf, local authority, utility and landscaping sectors, building strong commercial relationships and driving sales of high quality equipment. You will manage your own diary, conduct site visits, deliver demonstrations, and use CRM systems to maximise opportunities and achieve sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
* Sell professional turf and golf machinery across the designated territory
* Build and maintain strong relationships with golf courses, councils, contractors, and turf professionals
* Manage the full sales cycle from initial enquiry through to delivery and aftercare
* Deliver on site product demonstrations
* Provide guidance on finance options for new and used equipment
* Monitor competitor activity and market trends
* Maintain accurate records using CRM systems
* Oversee machinery handovers and ensure excellent customer follow-up
* Develop new business while growing existing accountsWork collaboratively with internal sales and product specialists
The Candidate
* Proven experience in a sales or territory-based role
* Strong knowledge or interest in turf machinery, golf, agriculture, or a related sector
* Confident using CRM systems and digital sales tools
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* Commercially aware, driven, and target-focused
* Highly organised with the ability to manage your own workload
* Flexible approach to working hours
* Full UK driving licence

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
