Do you feel strongly about making a difference to our local communities? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Streetscene team. Opportunities have arisen working out of one of our depots within North Lanarkshire Council.
With previous experience of maintaining grassed open spaces, shrub and flower bed maintenance you will have used various items of grass cutting equipment such as pedestrian machinery, hand and self-propelled, as well as petrol strimmer’s and understand the importance of health and safety when carrying out your duties.
You should be able to undertake physical duties including manual handling of heavier types of materials or labouring work. You will be a positive and enthusiastic individual with a responsible nature and have a courteous manner when dealing with the public. You should also be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
Possession of spraying certificates PA1, PA2 and PA6 and a driving licence with categories B&E/C&E would be advantageous to this role.
You will require a satisfactory outcome to Hand Arm Vibration and Audiometric Testing.
This is a temporary 23 month contract
The hours of work will be:
Week 1: 7.15am-5.00pm Monday to Thursday (30 minute unpaid lunch break)
Week 2: 7.15am-5.00pm Tuesday to Friday (30-minute unpaid lunch break)
