The post holder will be based with the CMHT and work with the integrated/single line team manager to ensure clinical leadership of the multi‑disciplinary team. The role includes supporting clinical supervision and training of team members, collaborating with Acute Care Services, planning aftercare arrangements, and providing consultation and supervision across Primary Mental Health Services. Clinical leadership within an acute care setting and development of care plans, evidence‑based treatment guidance, and Mental Health Act 1983 assessments are key duties.
Responsibilities
 * Manage, appraise and supervise junior medical staff in line with the Health Board’s personnel policies.
 * Assist with clinical supervision of the team, ensuring robust management plans for complex patients.
 * Record clinical activity accurately and submit to the necessary department.
 * Participate in annual appraisal for consultants and in CPD programme.
 * Maintain professional registration with the GMC, comply with the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010 and other legal frameworks.
 * Take part in annual job‑plan reviews with the Clinical Director and support service configuration and delivery improvements.
 * Work with local managers and colleagues to ensure efficient service running.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
 * MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
Desirable criteria
 * Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
 * MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
 * Welsh AC Approval.
Eligibility
Essential Criteria
 * Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
 * Included on GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of completing CCT.
 * Approved Clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
 * Approved under S12 or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
Desirable criteria
 * In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
Clinical Skills
Essential criteria
 * Evidence of training in the core and specialist competencies for community psychiatry.
Desirable criteria
 * Experience in leading a multi‑disciplinary team.
 * Experience of community psychiatric practice.
