Job Overview
Qualified Social Workers required for work within the Children with Disabilities Service in Yeovil, Somerset. This is an exciting opportunity with excellent rates of pay in a Children With Disabilities Team. Pay rate up to £38 per hour. 3 month contract but always extended. South Somerset is a beautiful rural area with good links to Bath, Bristol and Dorset border.
Responsibilities
To deliver an effective social work service to children with disabilities and their families, informed by current research, legislation and departmental policy.
The team undertakes work traditionally carried out by mainstream teams, including assessing need and identifying services that will enhance the life of the disabled child and their family. A large proportion of the work within CWD services is to identify need and provide services that minimise the effects of the disability so that the child can reach their full potential. By working in partnership with the child's family, we help enable the parents/carers to continue to meet the needs of their child while alleviating some of the stress that this will involve. Social workers attend various panels to advocate for our young people who require a residential placement or who require a direct payment to support their care.
Qualifications & Requirements
You will be Social Work England registered, ideally a driver with access to own car and able to reside and work in the UK.
