The role
As a HR Business Partner, you’ll be at the heart of one of the UK’s most complex and high‑profile marine programmes. This is your opportunity to influence people strategy across a major defence engineering environment—where your expertise helps enable high performance, organisational transformation, and a culture where people thrive.
Working closely with leaders across our Marine Sector, you’ll support and shape the unified People Plan, contribute to strategic decision‑making and drive meaningful outcomes for both the business and the wider defence community. It’s an exciting, purpose‑driven role that will develop your confidence, capability and career for the long term.
Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
1. Partner with leaders to understand business priorities and provide proactive, expert HR advice.
2. Support the delivery of the Marine People Plan and wider HR initiatives that drive engagement and performance.
3. Collaborate with Centres of Expertise and the People Centre to implement high‑quality HR solutions.
4. Provide guidance on employee relations, organisational development and change management.
5. Enable organisational change projects and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
This is a full‑time role, 36 hours per week, based at Rosyth. Hybrid working patterns are available.
Essential experience of the HR Business Partner:
6. Experience in an HR Business Partner or senior advisory role within a complex, fast‑paced organisation.
7. Strong knowledge of core HR disciplines including employee relations, organisational development and change management.
8. Excellent stakeholder‑management and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility quickly.
9. A collaborative, solution‑focused mindset with strong planning and delivery capability.
10. Ability to interpret HR data and translate insights into value‑adding action.
Qualifications for the HR Business Partner:
11. CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
