Radiotherapy Applications Physicist

We are seeking a radiotherapy physicist with a strong interest and knowledge of computing or a Computing Clinical Scientist.
Applicants must possess HCPC registration as a clinical scientist and significant experience in computing. Candidates with less experience but an aptitude and ambition to work in computing will be considered, commencing at Band 7.
Applicants will be responsible in collaboration with other members of the SciCom team and a multidisciplinary team of Clinicians, Radiographers, Medical Physicists, and clinical engineers for the design, monitoring, development and support of clinical radiotherapy computing infrastructure to enable the provision of state‑of‑the‑art radiotherapy.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to keep up radiotherapy clinical skills in areas such as dosimetry, Gamma Knife or Brachytherapy, and will be supported where appropriate in working towards registering and working as an MPE. Banding will depend on experience within radiotherapy computing, with applicants who have played senior roles in radiotherapy computing projects and a breadth of skills across radiotherapy and IT appointable at the higher band.

Qualifications and Training
* The post holder must have a BSc or equivalent in physics/computer science or engineering
* The post holder must have, a postgraduate qualification in a relevant branch of physics/computing or medical physics to the level of MSc or higher, or equivalent
* State registration as clinical scientist with HCPC
* Competance in a scripting language
* Working Knowledge of DICOM
* High level knowledge of radiotherapy computing systems
* Experience with basic IP networking, computer security and firewalls
