Head of Analytics and Insight
Role Description
Are you a visionary leader ready to shape the future of data-driven decision-making in the pet insurance sector? We are seeking a Head of Analytics and Insight to join our broader Pet Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Managing Director of Specialty. You will set the strategic direction for analytics and insight, building and delivering a data roadmap that underpins our key business objectives and overall strategy.

Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
Working across a portfolio of pet insurance brands, including the market leader Petplan, you will:
* Lead the development and execution of our data and analytics strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
* Oversee a broad range of data domains, from web and CRM analytics, to core policy data, trading performance monitoring and provide data to support our partners.
* Ensure our analytics capability is scalable, innovative, and delivers actionable insights across the business to drive customer acquisition, centricity, and loyalty.
* Present insights and recommendations to the Trading Board and Board, influencing business direction at the highest level.
* Oversee the delivery of data science solutions, leveraging exceptional offshore expertise to maximise value and efficiency.
* Work closely with centralised data functions to ensure our data architecture and engineering roadmaps and resources are fully aligned to deliver our ambitions.
* Manage comprehensive customer and brand research programmes utilising the latest in analytics tooling to deliver in depth insight in to the customer experience.
* Take responsibility for key governance and regulatory reporting, ensuring compliance and best practice.
* Foster a high-performance team culture, setting clear KPIs and supporting professional development.
* Manage project funding, deliverables, and supplier relationships to ensure successful outcomes.
Essential Skills
You will be a strategic thinker and inspiring leader, with the following skills and experience:
* Proven ability to set and deliver a data and analytics strategy that supports business objectives.
* Experience as part of a senior leadership team, with the confidence to influence at Board level.
* Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with a track record of building strong relationships across business and centralised data functions.
* Demonstrable experience in aligning data architecture and engineering resources to business needs.
* Expertise in delivering data science and analytics solutions, including managing offshore teams or partners.
* Advanced knowledge of data languages, processing, and visualisation tools.
* Experience with Big Data and Business Intelligence platforms, and effective relational database design and management.
* Strong understanding of customer segmentation, profiling, and research methodologies.
* Experience managing teams and third-party suppliers, with a focus on high performance and delivery.
* Familiarity with data governance, regulatory requirements, and the legislation relating to data use and storage.
* Degree educated in a numerate subject (e.g., Maths, Science, Engineering, IT, or Psychology with a statistical focus) or equivalent relevant experience.
