Reporting directly to the UK Operations Director, you will take full responsibility for leading, coaching, and developing a geographically dispersed team of Field Engineers, Depot Operators, and Driver Installers. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position where you will play a pivotal role in optimising engineer deployment, driving daily productivity, and ensuring exceptional Right First Time (RFT) delivery for installations, de-installations, maintenance, and emergency breakdown support of temporary HVAC, refrigeration, and boiler hire equipment. You will combine strong people leadership with operational excellence — conducting regular site visits and audits, resolving operational challenges in real time, championing continuous improvement, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer service in a fast-paced, customer-critical environment. What You’ll Do: Lead, coach, and develop a geographically dispersed team of Field Engineers, Depot Operators, and Driver Installers. Optimise daily deployment of engineers for installations, de-installations, maintenance, and servicing of HVAC, chiller, and boiler equipment. Drive Right First Time (RFT) performance, operational efficiency, and outstanding customer service. Conduct regular site visits, audits, vehicle checks, and debrief reviews to maintain high standards. Manage resources including tools, PPE, training, and fleet records. Champion continuous improvement and full compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards. Work closely with the Technical Team, Regional Sales Managers, and key clients on complex projects and pre-installation planning. Manage performance through PDPs, coaching, and talent development. What We’re Looking For: Strong engineering background – previous hands-on experience as a Boiler Engineer, Chiller Engineer, or HVAC Field Engineer is essential. Proven operations management or team leadership experience in HVAC, temporary plant hire, refrigeration, or field service environments. Relevant engineering qualifications are highly desirable (any of the following): Gas Safe, F-Gas, OFTEC, 18th Edition, C&G, or equivalent. Experience managing geographically spread field teams. A proactive, hands-on leader with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills. Strong analytical ability and proficiency with operational systems/IT.
